The tale of Bunga falls in Nagcarlan, Laguna

The sound of splashing water is a great stress reliever, especially in our fast
pacing jobs, add to it a serene environment plus green plants and cool breeze of air on your skin. Not a luxurious getaway but a needed getaway to destress. This is why I pave my way to Bunga Falls.

It was my first time to travel without a map. I made sure that my phone is fully charged, in case theat i will get lost, i can always call a lifeline. from calamba, i took a jeepney towards Sta.cruz and from there took another jeepney to Nagcarlan, mated time of travel is 2 hours from Calamba to Nagcarlan. From the town proper you can take a cab or tricycle for 20 pesos or .50 dollars towards Bunga falls, then there is a 5-15 minutes brisk walk towards the falls.

Bunga falls got its name from a bunga trees or betel nuts that grows around the area.
Entrance fee is 5.00 pesos or 0.121 US$, you can bring your own food and water since there is no store to by food in the area.

what makes Bunga  falls unique is the fact "twin falls"- two identical bodies of water falling side by side, subdivided by a huge rock which gain its mystery  claims. they said that this rock look like a human head which old folks of the area refer to as their anito who guarded the area and is living under the pool and taking lives of strangers or dayo- but of course, this remains a tale of our folks unless proven otherwise. They said that this guardian pull down deeper those who jump from the falls. But this pulling down deeper is justified by the locals because the catch basin of the falls is 10 meters deep. Like anybody else, when you see this kind of beauty, you will also be enticed to test yourself,- to jump off from the falls, just a precaution; you have to make sure you know how to seem as the current is strong.

The fresh air, serene surroundings, the humming of birds, green grass, misty dew drops, and the sound of the water will ease your mind from any stress.

this falls is accessible in two ways:
If you are coming from Alabang you can take a van to San Pablo then take a jeepney to nagcarlan, then a tricycle to Bunga falls or you can take a van from alabang to sta. cruz, tke a jeepney to nagcarlan and then take a jeepney to nagcarlan then a tricycle.
