Marinduque-Heart of the Philippines

If you are looking for a clean and white sand beach, yet unlike our commercial beaches that are crowded and expensive- head to Marinduque. A small island yet full of special things to do and offer- as best described in their website, Marinduque is a heart shaped island that has crystal blue waters and stunning shores, I will add to that the generous, warm-hearted and welcoming people that they have that captivated my heart.Let me take you to the short journey to Marinduque that makes me swear to take my Family and friends once again.

It was an unforgettable leave I took from work. A plan that was almost not coming to reality because of un avoided circumstances yet time was on our side. Cramming , uncertain of the right direction but we reached our destination-our 3-day Marinduque getaway.

We took the bus from Alabang,Muntinlupa to Sta.cruz, laguna ,which cost 130 pesos Then took the ferry from Lucena to Cawit ,Marinduque for only  Php340.00($7.5). The journey was almost 4 hours- long but relaxing journey.

We were welcomed by the family of our Friend, Thank you Mico Cha. so we saved more on getting an accommodation but there are hotels also that are not expensive in the place.

The best experience that we had is to go to Tres Reyes Island. The beach has crystal clear water, I can say, still virgin from commercialization. We had our lunch in the beach, the traditional Filipino baon, grilled pork belly, salted egg, grilled milk fish, simple yet delicious.

We had our share to enjoy the beach the whole day lounging under the sun. We enjoyed as well the sight of the rock formations around the island, what we miss are the caves coz we dont have much of time and we are all new to the place- something to look forward to.

We rented a banca for only Php1500($33.33) and that includes the tour guide and inclusive of the petrol or gas and it is back and forth transportation from the main island to Tres Reyes. It was an adventure, the tide was a bit high and it moves the boat from time to time if the wind is strong, but you know what, it helped us conquer our fear as well.
And if after the ride, you will witness a splendid beauty of the beach, then the ride was worth it.

The Island is captivating. The breeze of the air is cool. And the sand... the long stretch of white sand feels so good under my feet.

There was a nipa hut that we rented in the island, not necessary very nice but somewhere we can put our things and we can relax. We rented for 200 php($5).

It was a fun filled short holiday with friends.Even if we still worry about the jobs that we left behind, we took the opportunity to hibernate for a while, this is once in a million rest that we get, so we have to make the most of it.

At the end of the trip, we were exhausted but there were smiles in our faces. It was worth the mony, effort and time. Something that I promised I will visit this place again. To relax, unwind or maybe meditate- away from the bustling city life, yet the life in this place, maybe simple but i believe is Wonderful.

Look forward for my blog and my most awaited Moriones adventure bext year- because Marinduque is not just beaches, this place is full of culture as well that Moriones Festival has been known not only to this place but to a lot of places and even around the world perhaps. I heart Marinduque.
